HOW TENURE SECURITY AND FARMLAND TRANSFER AFFECTED FARMLAND INVESTMENT: EVIDENCE FROM APPLE GROWERS IN CHINA

Tenure insecurity and thin land rental markets weakened the incentives to farmland investment in rural China, which was not conducive improving agricultural productivity. Thus, impacts of tenure security transfer on were analyzed by using household fixed effect model, IV method a 762 household-level 1163 plot-level data set. The results indicated that: (1) compared with owned plots, number farmyard manure rented plots without stipulating time significantly decreased 64.0~66.9%; (2) each 1% increase rents led 1.7% rise input manure; (3) size resulted 0.1% manure. Our study contributed boosting sustainable development from perspectives systems property rights developing markets.
